Faith & Family Activities
1. Gratitude Circle
What You Do:
Sit in a circle and take turns sharing something you’re grateful to God for that day/week.
Add-on: Have each person say a quick prayer of thanks for what they shared.
2. Scripture Scavenger Hunt
What You Do:
Pick a verse (e.g., Psalm 119:105) and challenge your kids to find something around the house that represents that verse (like a flashlight for “light”).
Add-on: Ask each person to explain why they chose their item.
3. Faith Walk
What You Do:
Go for a walk together and look for something that reminds you of God’s creation or a Bible promise.
Add-on: End with a short prayer of thanks for nature or family.
4. Verse in Action
What You Do:
Pick a Bible verse like Galatians 5:22-23 (fruits of the Spirit). Each person picks one “fruit” to act out during the day or week.
Example:
“Today I’m focusing on kindness — I’m going to write a card to Grandma.”
5. Faith Jar
What You Do:
Create a “Faith Jar” where you put small pieces of paper with prayer requests, praises, or family challenges.
Add-on: Pick one a day to pray over or reflect on together.
6. Worship & Wiggles Night
What You Do:
Play 1–2 upbeat Christian songs and have a family “praise dance” night. End with a slower worship song and a group hug/prayer.
Prayer Jar Challenge
- Write prayers on slips of paper throughout the week. Read and pray over one together as a family each night.
Blessing Walk
- Take a walk together and thank God for His creation, family, and blessings. Point out things you’re grateful for as you go.
Fruit of the Spirit Chart
- Create a weekly tracker for each family member to grow in love, joy, peace, etc. Reward small wins.
Family Worship Night
Choose one night each week to sing a worship song, read a Bible story, and pray together.
Scripture Memory Race
- Challenge each other to memorize a Bible verse. Whoever remembers it by the end of the week gets a special treat or leads next week’s devotional.
Kindness Bingo
- Make a bingo card filled with acts of kindness (e.g., write a thank-you note, help a sibling, pick up trash). Try to get “Bingo” by week’s end.
Christian Movie Night
- Pick a faith-based film, make popcorn, and talk afterward about the message.
Family Testimony Time
- Have each member (age-appropriate) share something God has done in their life or something they’re praying for.
Acts of Service
- Simple crafts like making crosses from twigs, painting a favorite Bible verse, or creating handmade cards with Scripture.
- Faith-Based Craft Corner
